The Vienna University of Technology teamed up with several partners to initiate the NEWS project. It involves developing a new type of container ship, with the broader purpose of modernizing European river transport. The West Regional Development Agency joined the project in 2013.
On June 10, the West RDA invited representatives of the Vienna University of Technology and regional stakeholders in the field of logistics and transport for a debate on the topic of cargo transport on the Danube - a debate that I was happy to follow and translate.
